YouGov: Gaming & Esports – The Next Generation
The Introduction
As the gaming and esports industries experienced an unprecedented boom, YouGov conducted a global study to understand the evolving landscape. They approached Forge to help them bring the insights to life through a downloadable whitepaper and an accompanying digital campaign that would drive awareness and downloads across their key markets.
With our experience crafting content that bridges data and design, our challenge was to position YouGov as the go-to authority on gaming and esports consumer trends through creative that resonated with both data-hungry marketers and culturally-savvy gaming audiences.
The Problem
YouGov’s whitepaper contained rich, data-driven insights across 24 global markets. However, presenting this in a way that would engage both C-suite marketers and digital natives required a creative approach that was:
Visually dynamic yet clear
Representative of gaming culture without being cliché
Easily shareable and adaptable for digital platforms
They also wanted a social activation campaign that would drive traffic to the whitepaper and generate leads—primarily through LinkedIn and YouTube.
The Solution
Creative Concept & Design
We developed a bold, clean design system that merged YouGov’s data credibility with the visual energy of gaming culture. Key highlights:
Modular layouts with bold headers and infographics
Dynamic typography and glitch-inspired motifs nodding to esports design language
Page compositions that allowed data to breathe while highlighting key trends
Social Activation & Campaign Video
To ensure the report’s reach extended beyond email blasts and internal channels, we created a high-impact, 30-second animated promo video. The goal? Grab attention within 3 seconds and drive click-throughs to the download page.

Targeted Distribution
We collaborated with YouGov’s in-house marketing team to ensure the campaign hit the right audiences across:
